Design Process

Q: When is a good time to have a design done for my property?
A: Any time the land is free of snow.
Implementation can be carried out either in spring or fall.

We have three major approaches to providing you with the design solution you need:

1. Field Consultation

This typically entails the following:

  • Visiting your site
  • Discussing your needs with you and your family
  • Providing you with a hand-drawn plan of the proposed design
  • Oral instructions about the plan implementation

2. Office / Remote Consultation

Done remotely from our office; no visit to your site. Best in cases where site is more than 200 km away from our office.

  • Virtual visit of your site through detailed photos, topographical maps, GPS coordinates, other data, and oral description, all provided by you
  • Discussing your needs with you and your family
  • Providing you with a detailed computer-prepared plan of the proposed design
  • Preparing a detailed report with:
    • Analyses of your site
    • Required landscaping
    • Detailed list of plants and their placement
    • Detailed, practical instructions about plan implementation
  • Professional follow-up support during the establishment of your edible landscape

3. Field + Office Consultation.

  • Visiting your site
  • Discussing your needs with you and your family
  • Providing you with a detailed computer-prepared plan of the proposed design
  • Preparing a detailed report with
    • Analyses of your site

Any combination of the above is also possible. Please do not be hesitant to enquire about a customized design approach. Tailoring our work to your needs will not incur "uniqueness" expenses.

Travel expenses will be levied when travel for more than 50 km from our office is required.

Per diem (Food and Accommodation) expenses for site visits, requiring overnight stays, will be the Customer's responsibility.
